Research
BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound-157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a protective protein found in gastric juice. Preclinical studies have demonstrated significant regenerative effects on tendons, ligaments, muscles, and the gastrointestinal tract. Research in rodent models shows accelerated healing of Achilles tendon transections, improved recovery from muscle tears, and protective effects on intestinal epithelium. Studies suggest BPC-157 may upregulate growth hormone receptor expression and modulate nitric oxide synthesis, contributing to its observed angiogenic and cytoprotective properties. It has also been investigated for neuroprotective effects in models of traumatic brain injury and dopamine system modulation. All findings are from preclinical research; no human clinical trials have been completed.
